The Path to Sustainable Plastic Packaging

First Panel Discussion

The low weight of plastic products makes plastic an efficient packaging material. In addition, alternatives to plastic require more energy during their production. The purpose of plastic packages is to protect the content against spoilage and damage to ensure that the resources which were used are not wasted. However, a solution needs to be found to reduce the use of fossil raw materials.

The answer: the correct recycling of plastic products is what matters!

This is why Kautex participates in the pilot project within the scope of the R-Cycle Initiative. In 2021, this initiative won the German Award for Sustainability Projects - in the category Packaging.

During the first panel discussion of our Virtual Summit, you will find out more about the pilot project within the scope of the R-Cycle Initiative and regarding the current challenges in terms of use of recycled plastic  (PCR*) from the point of view of a petrochemical company, a recycling company, a machinery manufacturer, a packaging producer, and an automotive supplier.
