A little greeting from the Christmas market
We have already introduced you to two beautiful Christmas markets near our production sites (Day 6 & 9). Today, we bring the Christmas market to your home with a very simple and delicious recipe. Candied almonds have been around since ancient Greece. In various cultures around the world, they are offered at special occasions like weddings, festivals, or religious celebrations. Of course, these little treats with their tempting aroma must not be missing from the Christmas market.
Ingredients
200g unpeeled almonds
200g sugar
100ml water
½ tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Place the sugar, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon into a stainless steel pan and mix well. Add the water and bring the mixture to a boil without stirring. Once it boils, add the almonds and continue cooking over high heat, stirring constantly, until the water has evaporated. Then, reduce the heat to medium and keep stirring until the sugar begins to melt and the almonds acquire a light gloss.
Next, spread the finished almonds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, separate them with two forks, and let them cool completely. Enjoy cooking and bon appétit!
