Fun Christmas Traditions from Around the World
Slovakia
In Slovakia, the “Loksa,” a special pudding, is traditionally served as dessert at the Christmas meal. Particularly in rural areas, there is an interesting tradition: The head of the household throws a spoonful of the “Loksa” at the ceiling. The family watches eagerly because the less pudding that falls back down, the better the harvest is predicted to be in the coming year. A small drop on the table is considered a good omen for the upcoming months.
